Creative Live! Cam Socialize

The Creative Live! Cam Socialize is an IM-based webcam with a 1.3MP CMOS image sensor. It can capture SVGA (800x600) videos @30fps, as well as 1280x960 still images. Featured also is an integrated noise-canceling microphone and a 5.5’ cord.

As the Cam Socialize is geared for video chatting through instant messenger, it comes with Live! Central 2 software, which is a large package of applications designed to augment photos and videos. Users can host an IM slideshow; share videos, photos, and documents; add special video effects (like funny faces); add voice effects; and even add funny backgrounds. Critics have been extremely impressed by the Creative Live! Cam Socialize because though it’s relatively low priced, it offers a high resolution in addition to a wide-angle view. Some reported problems include poor low-light sensitivity and focusing.
